Mainstream Organics

I’m down here in Nashville for my father-in-law’s funeral. My daughter, Ella, and I were shopping at Kroger’s for a few supplies, and what do I see in the cereal isle? Organic Kellogs Rice Krispies! I never thought I’d see the day. Organic Rice Krispies! Does this mean that Organics have made it to the big-time? Well it’s certainly a good sign.

Check out this article for some additional information about how Walmart is driving the big producers to increase their organic offerings.

Ultimately, organic is not enough. Local is a much more wholistic and sustainable way to feed ourselves. Charles Eisenstein, author or The Yoga of Eating has contributed this article to our site.

        Hi Joanne

Thanks for the comment and the link to the article on your site and the local harvest site.

I agree with you about local. We’re blessed, here in Sonoma County to have access to a wide range of fresh, organic produce year round.

And, at the same time, I do not want to diminish the positive effects a decision by Walmart to increase their commitment to organic has on our environment.

        Take care
