Two In A Row Tuesday Motivation – Seeing The Trees Missing The Forest

Hmm. Two Monday Motivations in a row pushed back to Tuesday. I wonder what that means?

For one thing, it means that I’m getting caught up in the trees of my daily tasks before taking the time to focus on the forest of my weekly targets.

Working with the Simpleology system is great. And it certainly works well as a daily task manager. But the real power of Simpleology comes when the daily targets are linked to the medium and long-term targets.

And that’s the part that I’ve been short-circuiting by jumping into my daily tasks first thing Monday morning before checking in with my medium/long term targets. And that’s a great lesson for me!

Ironically, I’ve also been noticing a lack of motivation around my Monday Motivation posts. In part, I think that’s been due to a sense of duplication between my Simpleology Daily Target Praxis and these posts.

Because Wendy Piersall, my motivation for launching these posts, focuses on daily targets in her Monday Motivation posts, I fell into that same pattern, even though I’ve switched to a weekly format.

But there’s been something missing for me. And I think I’ve discovered the missing piece.

I want to use these posts to help me find that little bit of extra energy neccesary to shift my focus from the daily, gotta-get-’em-done tasks, to the weekly, get-’em-done-and-watch-my-business-take-off tasks.

Even with Simpleology to help me stay focused, I still find that it’s far too easy for me to get caught up in that never-ending stream of busy work. And when that happens, the tasks and targets that are going to help kick my business to the next level get relegated to the Mental Lock Box or worse!

So, beginning with this week’s Motivation post, I’m going to use it to gather and focus some extra energy on one or two high-value targets that might otherwise get lost in the shuffle.

And the theme for this week is – TEAMTogether Everyone Achieves More!

I’ve already attracted two incredible folks to my growing team. And I want more! Hey, that’s what the Law of Attraction is all about: You expand. You get a taste of your expanded reality. You like it. And then you want more! And that’s a good thing!

I want to continue attracting and creating an expanding team of Deliberate Creators. And, at the same time, I recognize that, for the moment, that expansion needs to happen within the reality of the existing cash flow of my new, expanding seminar/retreat offerings.

So this week, I am going to break through one of my limiting beliefs, namely that people would only want to be on my team if I can pay them a lot of money. I’m going to embrace the belief that there are unlimited resourse available, including amazing people who would love to be part of my team with or without lots of money. And I’m going toput out a call for some awesome interns to join our growing team of Deliberate Creators.

Specifically, by Thursday, I will write internship descriptions for the following positions: Print Design, Web Development, Audio/Video Production and Marketing/PR. And I will post these positions here as well as on our local community BB. I will also have one of my existing team members research internship postings at local colleges and universities and post our positions on their sites.

In addition, I will post for a work-trade position for a transcriptionist. I have a huge – and growing – library of recordings from classes and groups that I have led. These recordings represent quite a valuable resource. And I recognize that there are many budding Deliberate Creators who would love to participate in the seminars and classes that I offer but who have not yet created the financial resources to do so. A work-trade position is a wonderful way to create a win-win situation.

So if you don’t see a posting here by Thursday with the internship and work-trade descriptions, you know that one of the Evolving Times community members on MyBlogLog will be getting $100!

GO ED GO!!! I’m about to do the same, I think. I just couldn’t bring myself to find someone who would work for free – so I’m going to offer a tiny stipend plus several hours of free blog consulting to my intern. I can’t wait to see what you come up with! 😀

Great Idea Ed. Maybe I will use the 100 dollars I won to create a stripend and hire an intern too. ; )
