Evolving Times Has A New Look!

No. Your eyes don’t deceive you. After two years with my hacked together three-column theme, I’ve changed to a brand new theme!

If you’re visiting ET over the next few days, you may see some things moving around as I get everything settled into place. If you notice something that doesn’t look right, feel free to leave a note in the comments below.

I’d also love to hear what you think of the new design. It’s a work in progress so I’m open to suggestions.

I want to send huge thanks out to Brian Gardner. The heart of this new look is Brian’s Revolution Theme for WordPress. And not only is the theme itself totally awesome, Brian is one of the most helpful people I have met. He went way above and beyond in helping me figure some of the technical stuff out. If you’re looking for a new look for your blog, go check out Brian’s themes.

Thanks in advance for your patience as I iron out any little critters in the system.

      Hi Ed,
Works for me! I’m a fan of lots of white space and the colour scheme with the yellow and blue accents is really soothing. I love that your site isn’t overwhelmed by ads and everything is really easy to find. The “other articles you might be interested in” section is a feature I haven’t used much on other sites, but I think that yours offers something extra with the “most popular” and “faves” tabs. Your site (as with your previous) is a great blend of professionalism and personality – but where’s that gorgeous pic of you :)?

      Hi Ed,

The design is good for me but I still need some time to get use to it. 🙂

      Hey Ed,

The new design looks incredible! Well done!

pS: Revolution is a great theme, it’s one of the most probable themes for my next redesign.

Absolutely love the new look, Ed! Lots of great room for the core content as well as the navigation and other related links, and also welcome and open colors.

      Great job!

Martha. Good timing! Welcome to Evolving Times. I look forward to traveling this road with you.

Simone. Thanks for the kind words. I’m trying to find the right balance with the ads. I certainly would like to have a little more income flowing in from this site, but I definitely do not want to alienate my readers. So watch for some changes as I experiment with ads an placement. As for my photo, right now my it’s on the home page: http://www.evolvingtimes.com and the about page, http://www.evolvingtimes.com/about. That feels like enough for now.
