The Two Keys to Making Conscious Choices

Choices for Deliberate CreatorsI’ve been exploring the concept of choice lately. Choice plays such a huge role in our lives and often we tend forget about the power of choice until we’re faced with a difficult decision.

But, in truth, we make choices every moment of every day. Most of those choices we make unconsciously. And some of those unconscious choices are not in our best interest!

So how do we make more of our choices conscious? How do we make the difficult choices easier? And, perhaps most important, how do we fully live into the choices we make?

I’ve come up with two simple reminders that I use as affirmations whenever I find myself facing a difficult decision. Here they are:

  1. Embrace the truth that in each and every moment, I am at choice. No matter what the external circumstances seem to suggest, I am choosing my path in each and every moment. Resentment serves no one.
  2. Embrace the choices I make and have made. What a blessing to have the ability to choose in each and every moment. And what a gift to have multiple, beautiful, delicious options. Choose one and live fully into it. Regret serves no one.

I love this! Simple but profound.

To me, choice equals freedom. Since we have in each moment, a choice, we are ultimately, completely free. And, in each new moment, we are free to choose again! How great is that!

When we come to realize that how we feel in each moment is the creation of the thoughts that we choose, we recognize just how unlimited our lives are.

Great reminder. We really do have the choice…and therefore also the responsibility.

As a motivational speaker, one of my roles is to teach audiences how to see the options clearly. So they can make their choices with as broad a view as possible on the alternatives available to them.

        Thanks for the post,

        Steve

Thank you very much for the affirmations.

Another thing to keep in mind is to always be fully responsible for your decisions, and If you choose a path just follow It until the end.

You have great insights here Ed.

        Cheers!
